The problem

A status or location-sharing app can make two people feel watched when its permissions and promises are unclear. Beaconnect explores a different starting point: intentional, mutual sharing that gives reassurance without making the app the center of a relationship.

My contribution

I shaped the product constraints and built the Flutter application around authentication, pairing and a cached home experience. Firebase services support the live product seams, while local repositories make feature states easier to exercise independently.

Decisions that shaped it

The product uses deliberate check-ins, place snapshots and explicitly controlled live sharing. The Trust Center makes permission and sharing states part of the experience rather than an implementation detail hidden from the user.

Notifications, widget support and battery-saver behavior have different platform constraints. Their UI needs to describe what is actually available, without creating anxiety through an ambiguous status message.

Where it stands

The seven vertical slices are implemented, including pairing, check-ins, live sharing and trust controls. Internal-alpha release and distribution work is ongoing. The emblem in this case study is an original illustration, not a capture of the application or evidence of a public release.
